Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede

You know you're in for a different kind of dinner theater performance when live American buffalos begin their stampede. You're tucked away, in rows of tiered seating, and it's an awesome sight. While the theme of the show is the somber Civil War, you certainly won't feel downbeat as live musical performances, ostrich races, horse-drawn stagecoaches and more kick up a moving variety show. What's for dinner? Glad you asked. It's Southern hospitality of course so you get heaping portions of rotisserie chicken and hickory smoked pork loin, sided with cob corn, herb-basted potato and biscuits. You start off with a creamy vegetables soup. Pepsi soft drinks are included and unlimited.

TIPS -- You won't be bored if you arrive early as a singing cowboy with rope tricks starts the show nearly an hour before the official start time. Seats are assigned as they are reserved so if you are sure you will be there call quickly -- 866-443-4943 (or 407-238-4455 locally). And, no, the buxom country star Dolly Parton does NOT appear in the show. She did finance the production and even had a hand in many of the numbers but don't expect here to be there.

DIRECTIONS -- Dixie Stampede is located at 8251 Vineland Avenue in Orlando, near Sea World. On I-4 you will get off at Exit 68. If you were going West that means it's Route 535. Take a left onto 535 and the very next left to Vineland Avenue. Going East on I-4 go straight across the light at the end of the ramp and you'll be right on Vineland Avenue. Either way, it's a mile away from there.
